Le Mugel

The Mugel calanque is the first stop on all four of our tours. Nestled between the port and the Bec de l’Aigle (“Eagle’s Beak”), it offers a breathtaking panorama of the bay of La Ciotat, with the Île Verte (“Green Island”) in the foreground.
The rock that forms the Bec de l’Aigle and the calanques of La Ciotat is a conglomerate known as puddingstone — yes, named after the dessert — and it makes these calanques unlike any others in Provence.
