The Cap Canaille Cliffs
Between Cassis and La Ciotat winds a narrow road, the Route des Crêtes (“Crest Road”). It runs along the top of France’s highest sea cliff: Cap Canaille. The view from the summit is stunning — but it’s from the sea that you truly grasp its scale.
Sitting at the foot of its 394 meters (nearly 1,300 feet) of sheer rock, you feel just how colossal Cap Canaille is — before sailing on toward Cassis and Marseille.
